Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower announced on Saturday that it is closely monitoring advertisements by private institutions for remote training programmes which do not have the approval of the ministry.
A statement issued online by the ministry said: “With follow-up from the General Directorate for Professional Standards and Curriculum Development, a number of institutions have been observed publishing ads to implement training programmes remotely without obtaining the approval from the Directorate for this type of training.”
"Therefore, the institutions must approach the directorate with a plan for remote training programmes and evaluation for technical examination and obtain the necessary approvals."
A violation by the training institution of the above is a violation of the regulations of private training institutions issued in Resolution (490/2010) and exposes them to accountability and legal action.
"This comes in implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and the suspension of training in private institutions for a month from Sunday, March 15, 2020.
