Muscat: The Ministry of Health on Saturday issued a statement on suspension of educational institutions. A statement issued online by the Ministry of Health said: “The Ministry of Health, MOH, recommends educational institutions not to suspend classes without coordinating with the affiliated authorities which are the Ministry of Education of the Ministry of Higher Education or any concerned Authority or Ministry.”

The Ministry of Health pointed out that: “The decision of study suspension in any educational institution depends on the local epidemic situation of the disease and the risk assessment done for laboratory confirmed cases and contacts.”

“Furthermore, MOH has been monitoring persons with confirmed cases, as well as isolated and quarantined people," the statement said. MOH has called upon all people who have had contact with confirmed cases to communicate with MOH Contact Centre ( 24441999 ) and has urged people not to pay attention to rumors.
