The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has issued a decision cancelling the establishment of Al Nahda Engineering College.
H E Dr Rawiyah bint Saud al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, issued the decision (No 72/2019) in order to cancel the earlier Ministerial Decision (No 55/2014) regarding the establishment of the college.
The decision was made as per the Royal Decree 42/99 regarding the establishment of private colleges and higher institutes, and Royal Decree 6/2002 defining the functions of the Ministry of Higher Education and adopting its organisational structure, and Ministerial Decision No 34/2000 to issue the regulations for private colleges and higher institutes, and Ministerial Decision No 55/2014 to establish the Al Nahda Engineering College, and the approval of the Education Council on September 23, 2019.
The Ministerial Decision No 55/2014 was issued on July 15, 2014, which authorised the setting up of Al Nahda Engineering College with its headquarters in South Batinah. The college was supposed to offer bachelor’s courses in engineering in five streams: automotive, civil, mechanical, computer and electronics.
