Muscat, (ONA)- The Ministry of Education and the Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) Company signed at the Ministry’s building yesturday a cooperation agreement on supporting and financing programs and activities in the field of awareness and entrepreneurship among students in the concession areas.
The agreement was signed from the Ministry of Education side by Mustafa bin Ali bin Abdul Latif, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Abdul Amir al-Ajmi, External Affairs and Value Creation Director at PDO.
Mustafa bin Ali bin Abdul Latif said, " The value of the agreement amounts to RO70000 to hold four educational exhibitions, three of which are in the concession areas (Dhofar, Al Wusta and A'Dakhiliyah), and the fourth exhibition in the (Governorate of Musandam). The exhibitions include several corners, including corners for universities and colleges, awareness of the admission program and internal scholarships, education in the oil program, student talents and ideas, health, safety, and the environment, production of computerized films and applications in the educational field, supporting my school’s product program through establishing greenhouses and fish aquaculture to be run by students for three schools, two of them in the concession areas. For the third school, it will be agreed upon with the sponsor. The project will include a program for training a number of school students at the PDO headquarters during the two-week summer vacation period, to enlighten them on the business, specialties and areas in the PDO.
