MUSCAT: Winners of the Ministry of Manpower Innovation Award were announced by the ministry at a ceremony held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Dr Fahd bin Aljulanda al Said, Assistant Secretary-General of Innovation Development Department at The Research Council (TRC).
A total of 375 projects contended for awards in nine fields.
The ceremony was preceded by an exhibition that showcased the projects presented by students of technical and Wvocational colleges as well as employees of the Ministry of Manpower.
The award is aimed at spreading the concept and culture of innovation, stirring the spirit of competition among students of technical and vocational colleges and employees of the Ministry of Manpower. This would be an encouragement for those who excel in their projects and aspire to turn their vision into a reality, contributing to a sustainable development.
It also targets to transform the outstanding innovations into projects that could boost the national economy as well as create job opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship, besides bolstering partnership between the three parties of production (government, business owners and workers) to support emerging enterprises.
