Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower yesterday opened at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre an exhibition that includes 40 ideas presented by students of the Technical and Vocational Colleges.
The exhibition, which was opened under the auspices of Dr. Muna bint Salim Al Jardaniyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Technical Educational and Vocational Training, is part of the events to announce winners of the Manpower Innovation Competition today.
The Manpower Innovation Competition, which was launched by the Ministry of Manpower in April 2018 aims at promoting innovation in various fields and contributing to building innovation-based economy.
375 projects submitted by the technical and vocational colleges compete for the awards.
“The exhibition includes some works by the students of the colleges of technology, lecturers, trainers and staff at the Ministry of Manpower or the technical and vocational colleges, said Dr. Muna bint Salim Al Jardaniyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Technical Educational and Vocational Training.
The competition aims at promoting innovation and enhancing competition among students of the technical and vocational colleges, as well as the Ministry’s staff.
It also aims at attracting talented individuals and encouraging them to turn their innovations into reality that foster partnership among the three production parties (government, employers and employees).
