Muscat- Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed al-Shibaniyah, Minister of Education received in her office today Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, Crown Prince of the Malaysian state of Perlis and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed several areas of joint cooperation between the two countries, including the educational aspects. Both sides provided an overview of their education system, the main challenges facing them and the mechanisms to deal with them.
The two sides also discussed several points of mutual educational nature, such as mechanisms to motivate students, teachers, programmes and competitions that contribute to enhancing the level of achievement of students with a focus on how to promote the concept of citizenship, the programme of knowledge development, as well as programmes concerned with environmental aspects among others.
The meeting touched on the Sultanate's efforts to promote a culture of peace and dialogue among all. The visiting delegation expressed admiration over the Omani policy, which calls for peace and respect for all Islamic communities and other religions.
On the other hand, the Crown Prince and his accompanying delegation visited Safia bint Al Khattab School for grades 5-9 in the Wilayat of Bausher and Imam Jabir bin Zaid School for grades 10-12 in the Wilayat of Muttrah.
The guest expressed his admiration over the educational system in the Sultanate and its utilisation of the technical aspect and linking the student to the needs and requirements of the society. He praised the technical aspects and the level reached by the Omani student in this field.
