Suhar: Oman Oil Company for Refineries and Petroleum Industries (Orpic) on Wednesday celebrated the graduation of 147 trainees of the 7th batch of the Orpic programme to develop their abilities as well as receiving of the 8th batch.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council and attended by Sheikh Mohana bin Saif Al Lamki, Governor of North Al Batinah, a number of Walis, members of the State Council, members of Majlis Al Shura, representatives of government and private authorities, CEO of Orpic and its executive team.
Ahmed bin Saleh Al Jahdhami, CEO of Orpic said: “1,005 trainees have participated in the Orpic programme to develop trainees’ abilities over the past seven years. They have joined various technical and engineering disciplines in the fields of mechanical and electronic engineering, precision machine engineering, firefighters, engineers and process technicians.”
He added that these graduates are the workforce that will run the company’s growth projects, such as the Liwa Plastic Industries Complex, the Muscat-Sohar Pipeline, the Jaffnine Plant and the Sohar Refinery Improvement Project, noting that this program is the beginning of the road to developing skills and self-abilities.
