SALALAH: The Information Technology Authority (ITA) on Monday organised 4.0 Digital Trends Forum under the theme “Artificial Intelligence” at the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) in Salalah. The event was held under the auspices of Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications, Chairman of the ITA Board of Directors, in the presence of Abdullah bin Aqeel al Ibrahim, Acting Deputy Governor of Dhofar and Mohammed bin Nasser al Za’abi, CEO of PACA.
Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, said that the forum opens up an area of knowledge, research and discussion in the rapid technological developments worldwide and the successive changes that will be made by digital technologies at all levels to keep up with technological development.
The forum included presentation of two papers: “Automation and the Future of Artificial Intelligence” by Dr Aisha Khan, CEO and Founder of ADDO AI. The second paper entitled “Sustainability in Artificial Intelligence” was delivered by Dr Amjad Zaim, CEO and Founder of Cognitro Analytics.
The forum also included seminars with the participation of specialists and academics on the future of artificial intelligence and the possibility of benefiting from it to build a national system and strategy.
The forum aims to spread knowledge about the technologies provided by the 4th Industrial Revolution in the field of information technology and activate them in various sectors in the Sultanate. It also aims to establish a platform for those interested in IT, as well as support Omani specialists and find solutions to the difficulties they face in this area to advance their innovations in the future.
