Muscat - The Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) today celebrated the distribution of its awards for scientific research in its first edition at the Sheraton Hotel.

The ceremony was sponsored by Dr. Hilal bin Ali al-Hinai, Secretary General of The Research Council (TRC), who explained that the award not only contributes to the enrichment of knowledge, but also contributes to the development of PASI, pointing out that the award is an example of finding solutions based on research, inquiry and study.

Badria bint Nasser al- Shamakhiya and Dr. Lina Georgy got the first place in the category of doctoral and master's degree students.

In the category of researchers with bachelor degree and university and college students, Thamana bint Saif al-Mahariya came first, followed by Zakaria bin Khamis al-Saadi in the second place.

Dr. Faisal bin Abdullah al-Farsi, Chairman of the Award's Supervisory Committee, made a statement in which he explained that PASI has set out in its strategic plan a strategic focus for the insurance culture aimed at achieving a strategic result: "a society that is more educated in social insurance."

He pointed out that the award has got an international certificate of merit with special tribute by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) on October 2nd in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur and classified as one of the recommended best practices.

It should be noted that the areas of the award included " The Insurance Service", "Pension Benefits", "The Role of Media in Spreading the Social Insurance Culture", "Actuarial Sciences and the Role of Social Insurance in the Overall Economic Development," Sustainability of Insurance Systems"," Laws and Legislation of Social Insurance Systems ", and " Investments of Social Insurance and Retirement."
